Emily has over a decade of experience working as a public health nurse with a focus on chronic disease prevention. She has worked with diverse communities in both urban and rural settings, where she noticed a need to integrate and use evidence-informed decision making in frontline practice and decision-making to support the health and well-being of community members. This led her to pursue a PhD from McMaster University focusing on measuring evidence-informed decision making competence among public health nurses. In addition, she holds Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing degrees and is a registered nurse.
